Assisted living
Get help with bathing, dressing, medication and other daily routines, with a care plan that respects your needs and preferences. Four Saga communities in Texas and California offer assisted living, with meals, housekeeping, activities and a team on site around the clock.

What assisted living is
Assisted living is for seniors who want to stay independent but could use a hand with daily routines such as bathing, dressing or medication.
The help is built around the person, and the rest of the day looks like home: meals with friends, things to do and family who can visit just to visit.
A day in assisted living

Morning
Help getting ready, as outlined in your care plan, then breakfast with neighbors.

Midday
Medication support based on your care plan, and a team that knows how you like things done.

Afternoon
A sing-along at the piano, a fitness class or an outing on the community bus.

Evening
Dinner with friends, then a show by the fireplace or an early night.
Each community plans its own calendar. Ask for this month's on your visit.

Is it time?
There is rarely one moment that decides it. Families usually notice a few of these together.

Great environment with PLENTY of things to do! My aunt is loving it… We have a family joke that she’s “booked and busy” because its so many activities going on she’ll say “let me check my activities calendar”…LOL…loving this for her!

Included
Each community page lists exactly what is included and what costs extra. Care is priced around each resident's needs.
Add what you spend each month at home, including any paid help, and see what a monthly rate at a Saga community already covers. Your rate depends on the residence you choose and the care each person needs.
Families may use income, savings or proceeds from a home sale to pay for senior living. Long-term care insurance and VA benefits may help with eligible care costs. Elderlife Financial, a SilverAssist company, offers a free consultation to help you explore your options, including short-term financing when a move comes before a home sale.

Good to know
Each community lists what its monthly rate includes. These are the extras families ask about most. Ask each community for its list, and how often rates are reviewed.
As needs change
A care plan is not set once and forgotten. The team checks in with the resident and family and updates the plan as routines and needs change, so the help keeps fitting the person.
At Tarina of Kingwood and Tarina of Cypresswood, assisted living and memory care are under one roof. If memory care becomes appropriate, the team can discuss a move within the community, based on assessment and availability.
Sometimes a person comes to need more than assisted living is licensed to provide, such as ongoing skilled nursing. If that happens, the team talks with the resident and family early, explains why, and helps plan the next step, with the notice state rules require.
